Girls' Generation "Into The New World" lyrics

translated lyric :

I want to tell you, even though the sad times have already past
Close your eyes and feel, how you affect my mind, how you attract my gaze.
Don’t wait for a miracle, there’s a rough road in front of us
with obstacles and future that can’t be known, yet I won’t change, I can’t give up.
Keep your love unchanging for my wounded heart
Looking in your eyes, no words are needed, time has stopped.
I love you, just like this. The longed end of wandering.
I leave behind this world’s unending sadness.
Walking the many and unknowable paths, I follow a dim light.
It’s something we’ll do together to the end, into the new world.
It’s something we’ll do together to the end, into our new world.
Feeling alone in this dark dark night
Your soft breath,
This moment, warmly entwines me in your presence.
I want you to know all my tremors
I love you, just like this. The longed end of wandering.
I leave behind this world’s unending sadness.
Walking the many and unknowable paths, I follow a dim light.
It’s something we’ll do together to the end, into our new world.

The most recommended Korean movie for this week

Hello everyone,
I have 2 recommended Korean movies that I've seen before. First is "The Innocent Steps" I've seen this a year ago and "Il Mare" which I've seen on the christmas day few days ago. These movies are drama. Great panoramic view especially "Il Mare" and great of movie soundtrack. So check this out :)

시월애 (Il Mare)

in Italian means "The Sea" and in this movie Il Mare is the name of the seasidehouse. This movie was made in year 2000 starring by Jun Ji-hyun as Eun-joo, a pretty young woman who has aspirations of becoming a voice actress who has obtained her dream. Living in 1999, Eun-joo becomes the second tenant of the house and is only moving out as the film begins and Lee Jung-jae as Sung-hyun, a young man who was the first tenant of the house. Living two years in the past of 1997, he begins as a construction worker for a large project. Although a talented architect, Sung-hyun has become critical of his talents, claiming he could not stand becoming a hypocrite.
The Korean title, Siworae is the Korean pronunciation of Hanja characters "時越愛", which means "time-transcending love". The two protagonists both live there two years apart in time, but are able to communicate through a mysterious post box.
The film was remade by Warner Brothers in 2006 as The Lake House starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves.

Starring by :
Jun Ji-hyun
Lee Jung-jae

댄서의 순정 (Innocent Steps)

Former acclaimed dancer Na Young-sae (Park Keon-Hyeong) attempts to make a comeback. Young-sae then brings to Korea Jang Chae-rin (Moon Geun-Young), an ethnic Korean from China who he presumes is a highly talented dancer. To Young-sae's surprise he soon learns Chae-rin is an inexperienced dancer and her older sister is the talented dancer. With only three months until the Dance Championship, Young-sae attempts to turn Chae-rin into a world-class dancer.
Moral of this story : "Success can not bring you happiness if the one you love is far away". This movie was released in 2005.

Starring by :
Moon Geun-young
 Park Keon-hyeong

포장마차

When I visited Korea this year, my eyes always saw a lot of food street vendor selling various kinds of Korean snack in Seoul. It looked like a covered wagon or small wagon covered by tent with ajumha was busy with her tteokpokki and other delicious snack inside the tent. I just know that the name is food street vendor but now I know that the Korean name is Pojangmacha 포장마차.
It sells a variety of popular street foods such as hotteok, gimbap, tteokbokki, sundae, odeng, gimari, kimbab and I can find soju also. There are some benches for customers to seat but sometimes customers just stand for eating quickly. It is the most favorite place to eat and drink into the night in Korea ^^

My Winter Fiction Story

Hello everyone,
I followed KTO Indonesia event's "My Korea Winter Story" on this December, I am going to repost my story in my blog, note : this story is 100% fiction. But I don't know if it'll be happen in the future :))
Although I'm not a winner, but I'm so glad to join this event ^^

MY KOREA WINTER STORY.

It will be neverending stories if I tell the stories about my lovely country, korea. So I try to compile some photos into 1 page storytelling picture and give the title "My Sparkling Winter Story in Seoul-korea".

My Sparkling Winter Story in korea

First of all, I had to prepare my special clothes for winter. I brought some thick clothes and jackes to keep my body warm, and also a pair of boots so that it will make me easy to walk and move on the snow.
The first place was some folks places of korea. They were interesting spot to visit during my trip in this winter.
So I spent couple of my days in Bukchon Hanok Village.
I want to feel the traditional life in korea by living in the Hanok. Hanok is a name of korean traditional house. It designed to followed with the climate in korea. As we know, korea has 4 seasons in a year. Hanok will give you nice cool air in the summer and warmer in the winter. Especially in winter, korea had been developed the housing heater system in the Hanok from many hundred years ago, the heating system is named Ondol. That's why I like to try how to stay in Hanok and tried korean culinary experiences, especially Kimchi.
Have you tried Kimchi ? Kimchi taste in korea is very different. I can guarranty 100%, you will love kimchi after you try it by yourselves in korea.
It is so delicious and fresh!
After had a great time in Hanok experiences, I went to the most great place in Insadong. Insadong is the most attractive tourist spots in Seoul and there is one place, I descrived that it looked like an open space square building named Ssamziegil. This place must to visit during winter time. Why ? because it's so romantic ! ^^
I walked in the Ssamziegil from the lower level to the higher level, bought some cute crafts there. oh they are so cute!.
After geeting around in Ssamziegil,I tried to take some photos with Hanbok in a photo studio in Insadong. Hanbok is a name of korean traditional costume. It has many beautiful colors with nice shape. I picked a cute one. Pink color was great. oh I took some Aegyo poses also ha ha!, aegyo is the name of cute korean poses.
After taking a photo session, I bought some Hotteok selled by the street vendors in Insadong. Hotteok is a fried korean pancake filled with brown sugar and honey chopped by peanuts and cinnamon. This is the most favorite korean snack in the winter. Sweet and warm. Great snack for the winter.
oh I looked at my watch, it's almost the time to meet with my korean friend. ok I can say he is my "namja chingu". We arranged the meeting near the subway station in Jongno-gu. He took me to the open air ice skating rink near the Han river. He taught me how to skate on the ice. Sometimes he caught me into his arms if I'd almost fall. It only took a few minutes to learn then I went skating by my self. We really had fun time so much! skating by holding hands together...
Time went so fast! It was almost sunsets. Atfer skatting, We had a plan to go to Namsan in the evening.
But before left the Han river, he took me to enjoy the sunsets time near the Han river by walking together on the Han river side. We took some pictures there.
Finally as a the last spot we wanted to visit was Namsan. We went to Namsan to watch the night view of Seoul from the higher level. We took a cable car to Namsan and then took some walk to the N Seoul Tower.
Sometimes snow, fell in few minutes, he opened his umbrella and we walked together under the umbrella. I saw the snow hanging on the tree branch lighted by the spotlights, it was really beautiful. I captured that with my camera also.
But few minutes later my "namja chingu" took out the umbrella and by his other hand, he holded the nearest tree branches and pulled them down. Can you imagine that ? the snow were falling into our heads! I was so surprised, what a naughty ! ha ha !
Arrived in N Seoul Tower, we saw so many couples gathered near the Namsan padlock. Some of photographers took their cameras and captured the great scenery of Seoul full of lights like stars on the sky. So beautiful !
If you go to Namsan, it's necessary to bring the padlock, especially if you are couple. I bring the padlock because we wanted to lock our love here with our symbol, the love padlock. We locked our love padlock with smiley face, then we throwed the keys together as far as possible.
We hope that this relationship will be everlasting and locked forever like our love padlock on Namsan.

The end. I hope you enjoy my story ^^

Myeong-dong Cathedral Seoul, South Korea

One day ... in the half month of the spring in Seoul, during my trip in South Korea, I came to Myeongdong Cathedral located in the Seoul Metropolitan city downtown. I followed evening mass in Hangul. It was so great, amazing and full of spiritual moment I had. I didn't take any picture inside the church, because I want to captured only in my heart. This is the reason why I just got some photos of Myeongdong Cathedral from outside. Honestly I'm deeply touched and cry when seeing this video, I can be so emotional. Let me share this at this Christmas moment. Merry Christmas everybody ^^

아리랑 Arirang

Arirang is Korea's most representative folk song. Like many other folk songs, nothing about its exact history is known. Arirang has decended from mouth to mouth. There are many version of Arirang composition base on the region. The most famous version is Gyeonggi Arirang.

Besides that there are many different versions of Arirang such as :
정선 아리랑 Jeongseon Arirang from Gangwon province.

진도 아리랑 Jindo Arirang from South Jeolla province.

밀양 아리랑 Miryang Arirang from South Gyeongsang province

and many others.
Arirang does not mean just one particular song. It stands for any song containing a refrain with word such as arirang or arari.

Gyeonggi Arirang song lyric :

아리랑, 아리랑, 아라리요...
아리랑 고개로 넘어간다.
나를 버리고 가시는 님은
십리도 못가서 발병난다.

Arirang, Arirang, Arariyo...
Arirang gogaero neomeoganda.
Nareul beorigo gasineun nimeun
Sibrido motgaseo balbyeongnanda.

Many versions of the song open by describing the travails the subject of the song encounters while crossing a mountain pass. "Arirang" is one name for the pass and hence the title of the song. Some versions of Arirang mention Mungyeong Saejae, which is the main mountain pass on the ancient Joseon Dynasty road between Seoul and southeastern Gyeongsang Province.
There are apparently a number of passes in Korea called "Arirang Pass". One such is a pass among some hills in central-northeastern Seoul. That Arirang Pass, however, was originally called Jeongneung Pass and was only renamed in 1926, to commemorate the release of the film Arirang. Older versions of the song long predate the movie.

Arirang Pass (아리랑 고개) is an imaginary rendezvous of lovers in the land of dreams, although there is a real mountain pass, called, "Arirang Gogae," outside the Small East Gate of Seoul. The heroine of the story from which the Arirang Song originated was a fair maid of Miryang. In fact, she was a modest woman killed by an unrequited lover. But as time went on, the tragic story changed to that of an unrequited lady-love who complained of her unfeeling lover. The tune is sweet and appealing. The story is recounted in "Miss Arirang" in Folk Tales of Old Korea (Korean Cultural Series, Vol. VI).

약식 / 약밥 Yaksik/Yakbab

credit : www.lgcooking.com
Yaksik or it is also called Yakbab is made of glutinous rice. Glutinous rice is first steamed then mixed with sesame oil, soysauce and honey or brown sugar. Then it is steamed again with seeded jujubes, chestnuts, pine nuts etc. This is the most favorite dishes for Daeboreum celebrated in the 15th day of the first lunar month. This is literally called as a medicinal food.
I already tried Yakbab. When I ate it, I felt that a flavour and a fragrance of Yakbak came from the mixed seeds and rice, very unique, lighter taste of sweet.

Korean recipe : 호박떡 Hobaktteok

호박떡 Hobaktteok is a variety of tteok, or Korean rice cake. Hobaktteok is made with non-glutinous rice powder and steamed pumpkin.

5 cups non-glutinous rice powder, 1/2 tbsp salt, 2/3 cups sugar

2 sweet pumpkins

10 cups water

garnish: 2 jujubes, 16 pumpkin seeds

1. Scrape out the insides from the pumpkins.

2. Sprinkle salt on the rice powder and sieve.

3. Clean the jujube and cut it into flower shapes.

4. Pour water into the steaming pot and put on high heat. When it gives off steam, put the pumpkin in and steam it for 15 minutes. Scrape the flesh from the pumpkin.
5. Add the pumpkin flesh and sugar to the rice powder, rub in thoroughly, then sieve.

6. Pour water into the steaming pot and put on a high heat. When it boils, layer cotton cloths on the bottom of the pot and put the cake mold on them. Put the rice and pumpkin mixture into the mold then plane the surface. Put X-shaped slits in the mixture at intervals of 5 cm, top with jujube and pumpkin seeds.

7. Steam the tteok for another 15 min.

To prevent the sweet pumpkin becoming watery, the pumpkin should be kept upright while steaming.

Pumpkin skin may be used for garnish by cutting into sheets and boiling down with sugar.

Korean recipe : Bibimbap "The Color of Harmony and The Spirit of Korea"

Bibimbap literally means "mixed meal." Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating. It can be served either cold or hot. For me, bibimbap is the color of harmony and the spirit of Korea that we can see on the Korean food.

Public Transportations in Korea

Public transportation in Korea are integrated each other, they are very rapid convenient and efficient and will connect you to some of major cities in Korea. You can fine subway systems in Seoul, Busan, Daegu. Daejon, Gwangju and Incheon, and KTX the high-speed rail service will take you to some great destinations in Korea.
People in Korea especially in Seoul mostly pay their transportation fares with the transportation cards. The cards are honored on busses and subways as well as taxis. The benefits of using the card is discounted rate. The cards can be purchased and reloaded at convenience stores, kiosks, subway station or mini-kiosks at the bus stops.

Bus Routes.
The most frequently used public transportation in Korea is a bus. Recently a monitor system has been added at bus stops to provide information on the estimated arrival time of each bus. It is very useful for me, when I visited Seoul. The low fare is another reason why bus ride is so popular. Bus routes are divided into diferent colors and have philosophical meaning.

Green bus : Green buses will be flexibly operated by private bus companies, to connect major subway stations or bus terminals outside downtown Seoul. It is similar with the city bus and the community shuttle bus currently in operation. Green stands for the mountains surrounding the city.
Blue bus : This type of buses will operate at higher speeds and access the median bus lane connecting suburban areas to downtown Seoul. The blue color represents Seoul's skyline and Hangang (River) to symbolize security and freedom.
Red bus : The red buses will be express buses designed specially for those commuting between downtown Seoul and the metropolitan area. The color red exudes energy of speed.
Yellow bus : This bus will circle downtown Seoul and stop at stations for blue buses and major railway stations, as well as business, tourist and shopping areas. Yellow was selected for its dynamic and friendly image.

Rapid Subway Service.
Very convenient transportation service in Seoul which is connected to some of lines and destinations, from the downtown of Seoul to suburb area. Incheon international airport can be reached by subway too. In my experiences, I may say this is the most efficient public transportation in Seoul, with complete information in various languages.

Multiple Taxi Types.
There are some types of taxi in Seoul, we can recognize them by their color.

General taxi or regular taxi with silver color with basic fare started from W2.600 and the meter increases at W100 base on distance.
Between midnight and 4 AM, there is an extra charge (20%) for all general taxies anywhere.

Deluxe taxi, with black color and the words "Deluxe taxi" on the side. The fare is higher than regular taxi type which is starts from W4.500 and the meter increases at W200 base on distance.

High-speed Rail (KTX).
The KTX (Korea Trail eXpress) high-speed serves many major cities in Korea. It's only take 2 hours and 40 minutes from Seoul to Busan, 2 hours and 58 minutes from Seoul to Mokpo, it's faster than other public transport service.

Express buses.
They run between all the cities in Korea. Some of remote destinations can be reached by using Express buses system.

Limousine bus.
Perfect experience I had, I used the limousine bus from and to Incheon International airport. Many destination in various region are available.

My view : What is the basic of Hallyu dance and musical composition ?

When I saw some Korean tourism commercial video, I always found the scenes of Korean folk dancing with colorful costume, dinamic dance, and great folk music. It is so interesting for me. It represents of dynamic Korea in my eyes and it makes me want to dance if I see it. Based of that I think that the current modern Korean dance and a dynamic beat of K-pop music compositions (especially male group) are adapted from Korean folk dance and music themselves. I can feel the same spirit by hearing or seeing both of them. The dynamic spirit, unique and only can be found in Korea.
So I try to find some videos and searching the information about this folk dance which is more similiar with the modern style and the name is Samul nori.

Samul nori in Hangul : 사물놀이 is a Korean traditional percussion comprosong music, acrobatic, dance and rituals. It is perform in the harvest day on the villages. Samul means four objects and nori means play. According to those words, Samul nori is devided to 4 kind of instruments, there are :

a small gong called Kkwaenggwari 꽹과리
a larger gong called Jing
an hourglass-shape drum called Janggu 장구
a bass drum named Buk
Each of the four instruments represents a different weather condition: the janggu represents rain, the kkwaenggwari thunder, the jing the sounds of the wind, and the buk clouds.
Yin and Yang are also reflected in the buk and janggu (leather) represent the sounds of the earth, the jing and kkwaenggwari (metal) represent sounds of the heavens.
