Carnations Flower, The Flower of Love

This May always called Family month or (가정의 달)  for Koreans. Why ? because there are so many events and days will be celebrated in family themes.
Starting from tomorrow, we will celebrate Children's Day (5th May), Parent's Day (May 8th), Teacher's Day (May 15th), Couple's Day (May 21st).
One of my point is, I always see a kind of flower that always use on these celebrations day. We can see students give a flower bouquet to their teacher.
Also it comes up on parents day. When I went to Korea, two years ago on May, I saw many parents weared a pink colored flower corsage on their chest. They looked very proud of it, and it looked like they want to show that to everybody.

Curious of that, I try to find what kind of flower it is. It is carnations flower.
Carnations flowers with latin name : Dianthus caryophyllus is problably native to the Mediterranean region. It requeries well-drained, neutral to slightly
alkaline soil and full sun. It can bloom last long time even after they are cut.
This is the most important ... Carnations depends on their color also has been made as a symbol of love expression, admiration, gratitute and also the symbol of a mother's undying love.
The latin name of carnation, dianthus, comes from Greek as a meaning of "heavenly flower" or "the flower of love".
In Korea, usually using pink or red color carnation, to show their love and gratitute to their parents or teacher.
